The Caterpillar CAT M314F wheel excavator to Pon Equipment in Norway is one out of many 360 excavators that will be converted into rail operation during 2017.

With two modes of operation, high or low rail, the machine can either work uplifted with the rubber wheels in contact with the rail wheels or lowered with the rubber wheels in contact with the rail and with the rail wheels used for guiding only.

The machine is equipped with a RCI system 3RCI with Spaceguard from GKD, which monitors the load of the machine and enables high lifting capacity and safe operation without risk for overturning. The SpaceGuard function makes it possible for the machine to work in all conditions, including below live OLE and ALO. The rail equipment from Rosenqvist comes with a tool carrier attachment  as an option, which makes it possible to carry tools and material out to the worksite on forks or in a bucket.
