Terex TW75 converted for rail operation

February 21, 2017

In 2016, Rosenqvist and Sundahls Maskinaffär, the Terex dealer in Sweden, started a cooperation on hy-rail equipment for Terex wheeled excavators. The first Terex TW75 was delivered to Sundahls this month.

The machine has two work modes, high rail mode with the machine uplifted with rubber wheels in contact with the rail wheels or low rail mode, where the rail wheels are used for guidance only and the rubber wheels are used for traction. It has a separate parking and emergency brake acting directly on the rail wheels. The machine is approved to pull a rail trailer.

The machine is equipped with the RCI system 3RCI with SpaceGuard. 3RCI monitors the machine’s load status and compares it to the machine’s true lift capacity in its state of gradient, rail cant and axle lock configuration. Slew, cant and gradient duties are continuously calculated to make full use of the machine’s lift capacity in every position. SpaceGuard increases productivity by enabling the machine to be able to operate at all times even under live overhead wires(OLE) or next to open traffic lines(ALO).
